Linvoy Primus MBE
Amongst all the star names at Portsmouth Football Club in recent years, no player has been more popular than Linvoy Primus.
Linvoy started his career in 1990 at Charlton Athletic, and over an 18 year period was a senior player at Charlton, Barnet, Reading and finally at Portsmouth, where his career came to an end through injury in December 2009. The Milton Stand at Fratton Park, Portsmouth was renamed “The Linvoy Primus Community Stand” in honour of his outstanding services to the club.
Linvoy released his autobiography in 2007 entitled “Transformed” and as well as being joint founder is actively involved with the Christian Charity “Faith and Football”.
Linvoy shares his inspirational story of his life in football and how through his amazing conversion to Christianity, he triumphantly overcame disillusionment, lack of self-belief and numerous rejections which led to a life and career that has been totally transformed.
As Linvoy tells of his Christian journey he hopes that his story and life experiences, will encourage, challenge and inspire others to have a relationship, like he has found, with Jesus Christ.
Linvoy was awarded an MBE in the 2015 New Years Honours lists for his contribution to Football and Charitities.
